- ➤ In about 45 days, Rubiano Capital Investment will open Pharr Industrial Park on I-365 (just north of Military Highway near Stewart and Dicker), a 150-acre development aimed at heavy manufacturing tenants with support from TxDOT and AEP on new highway infrastructure. Rio Grande Guardian

- ➤ Local Rio Grande Valley farmers are facing rising diesel costs that squeeze their profits. Edinburg produce grower Mike Helle said extra fuel to water crops amid a severe drought adds $500 to $600 to daily expenses. KRGV

- ➤ La Joya ISD and PSJA ISD will review plans to rename a school honoring Cesar Chavez—accused in a recent report—and will consult the community after spring break to decide next steps. KRGV

- ➤ Castle Hospitality will hold a groundbreaking next month for its 13.66 acre mixed-use development on the northwest corner of I-2 and 10th Street where the old Civic Center stood. Michael Fallek says the project is planned as a legacy for McAllen. Rio Grande Guardian
