  • Three fire departments—Sebastian, Lyford, and Raymondville—responded to a mobile home fire on Business 77 and North 3rd St. in Sebastian, and the sheriff asked drivers to slow down for first responders.  ValleyCentral.com

  • U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized a Ford SUV carrying 14 packages of cocaine weighing over 34 pounds and valued at more than $400K at Mission's Anzalduas Bridge on March 25th—Homeland Security now leads the investigation.  Fox Rio Grande Valley
  • Edinburg police are investigating two armed robberies that occurred early this morning at a smoke shop on North Doolittle Road and on West McIntyre Street+ one incident involved suspects who threatened a clerk with a handgun and took cash and merchandise while the second saw a suspect steal cash and a gold chain, with no injuries reported.  Fox Rio Grande Valley

  • South Texas Health System—partnering with Prominence Health Plan—will host the third annual Prevent, Treat, and Beat Diabetes Symposium tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the South Texas College Nursing and Allied Health complex, where lectures, cooking demos and interactive exercises will offer free screenings to raise diabetes awareness in the Rio Grande Valley.  ValleyCentral.com
