- ➤ Volunteers in Pharr are collecting essential supplies to support families affected by recent floods. - ➤ Ricardo Rubiano, co-founder of Open EB5, said in an in-depth interview that his Midtown Pharr project will include 168 multi-family units built near TopGolf and I-2, with most funding coming from foreign investors who will qualify for permanent residency. He also discussed a larger hybrid project planned for Brownsville (near I-169 at Brownsville Sports Park) and noted the region is part of a new economic triangle with San Antonio and Houston. - ➤ A 29-year-old Weslaco man faces a murder charge after an elderly man died from head trauma from an assault on March 18 — booked on March 19 on other charges, he is set for a bond hearing today while remaining in jail. KRGV

- ➤ The City of McAllen waived building permit fees for homeowners making non-structural repairs after last week’s heavy rains—this waiver covers work such as drywall, flooring, roofing and minor carpentry.
