EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The McAllen High School JROTC program retained Honor Unit with Distinction status after scoring 99% during its March 25 inspection + the recognition is effective for three years. Inspectors from Fort Sam Houston confirmed the Bulldog Battalion ranks among top JROTC units nationwide. KRGV
- ➤ La Joya ISD will overhaul its bus system for the 2026-2027 school year by using route optimization and new real-time tracking tools to cut costs and improve service. Families can provide feedback through a survey from Apr. 7 to Apr. 24 and during town halls scheduled in April. KRGV
- ➤ Texas State Technical College’s Harlingen campus will launch Advanced Manufacturing and Electrical Construction programs this fall to meet rising workforce demand in the Rio Grande Valley (registration is open for courses offering an associate degree, certificates, and fast-track licensure).
