Jorge Enriquez Saldana Gonzalez, a 43-year-old man, confessed to shooting a woman outside Sandra’s Bar—on the 100 block of North Seventh Street—and was charged with murder with no bond after police arrested him in Edinburg on the 10,700 block of Hernandez Street; the investigation remains active.
Jesus Carlos Rodriguez was arrested at his home near Rosa Diego Street and Hester Avenue in Donna for gang activity and drug trafficking—he faces charges for possession, manufacturing and distribution of a controlled substance—and his arrest was part of a coordinated multi-agency operation by the Alamo and Donna police with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
McAllen police are searching for 26-year-old Jose Maria Mendoza — described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and about 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes — who is wanted in connection with a burglary on April 3 at a residence on the 3000 block of Business 83 after he and a second suspect wearing ski masks and carrying firearms fled the scene; an arrest warrant has been issued for burglary of habitation with intent to commit a felony.
