- ➤ McAllen police investigated a fatal two-vehicle crash on the 3200 block of S. Ware Rd before 2 p.m. Tuesday that claimed the life of a 40-year-old U.S. Border Patrol agent from Mission while occupants of the second vehicle were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries — Border Patrol spokesperson Christina Smallwood confirmed the agent was on his way to work. - ➤ A truck rolled over on the 4000 block of East Frontage Road in Weslaco this afternoon+ leaving its driver injured and in hospital while police investigate the cause of the single-vehicle crash. Fox Rio Grande Valley

- ➤ A criminal complaint stated that Jorge Enrique Saldana-Gonzalez allegedly shot and killed his ex-girlfriend at Sandra's Bar in Alamo on Saturday after seeing her hug another man, and he was arrested in Edinburg after officers discovered his gray Ford F-150 at a nearby residence. KRGV
- ➤ Jose Maria Mendoza surrendered to McAllen police on Monday after being wanted for a burglary at a residence on the 3000 block of Business 83 on April 3 and remains in custody pending arraignment for first degree burglary of habitation—another suspect is also under investigation. KRGV
- ➤ Police said that 43-year-old Jorge Enrique Saldana-Gonzalez confessed to fatally shooting a woman inside the Alamo bar over the weekend as surveillance footage captured the chaos and he was charged with first-degree murder. Fox Rio Grande Valley

- ➤ RioPlex is hosting the Texas Port to the Stars FDI Summit with a reception today at the Westin Galleria and panel discussions on April 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez said the summit will help show the region's assets — international bridges, airports, sea ports and a medical school — to potential foreign investors.
