- ➤ Diana Padilla’s nonprofit HOPE was using a $7.5M grant to expand farming training for Texas residents when the USDA cancelled funding over DEI concerns (the agency cited wasteful spending). Padilla plans to appeal the decision to keep the program running. Click2Houston.com
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State Sen. Juan Hinojosa of McAllen sent a letter urging U.S. Agriculture to restore a $7.4 million grant for HOPE for Small Farm Sustainability—a program that teaches local families farming skills.
