- ➤ Today, the Food Bank of Grand Valley is hosting a drive-thru produce pop-up event at the Alamo Advancement Center from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. or until supplies last—each vehicle is limited to two families. Fox Rio Grande Valley
- ➤ Residents across the Rio Grande Valley experienced widespread power outages—over 300 in Cameron County and more than 100 in Hidalgo County, according to AEP. Magic Valley Electric reported that 108 customers in Hidalgo County were affected as work to restore power continued. ValleyCentral.com

- ➤ Four Valley residents were sentenced for their roles in a scheme to pay kickbacks for prescription referrals — Rodriguez got five years in prison while Chowdhury, de la Cruz, and Flores received shorter terms and must serve three years of supervised release. ValleyCentral.com
- ➤ 18-year-old Kinzey Lira—found with a Glock 9mm pistol and a loaded magazine on campus—faces federal charges and will appear in court on Thursday where he may receive up to five years in prison and a fine of $250,000. KRGV

- ➤ Elizabeth Suarez, CEO of McAllen Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation, said there was a 28 percent drop in border crossings in March compared to the same month last year at the Hidalgo International Bridge—officials note that longer wait times and stricter checks have played a part. She said city leaders are closely monitoring the situation and will pivot and adjust as needed while preparing for the MxLAN Economic Summit today at the McAllen Convention Center.
