  • Federal agents working with the HIDTA Task Force intercepted nearly $1.9M worth of cocaine last Friday when they searched a Ford Ranger at Donna International Bridge and a semitrailer at Rio Grande City International Bridge, and both drivers were arrested.  Fox Rio Grande Valley

  • Today, U.S. Senators Cornyn, Cruz and others are pushing to fund a nuclear facility to produce sterile flies aimed at stopping screwworms from reaching South Texas, where experts fear they will harm the $15 billion cattle industry. The USDA has suspended live animal imports from Mexico+ officials warn that more decisive action is needed to prevent a widespread outbreak.  The Texas Tribune

HEALTH NEWS

  • South Texas Health System launched a Parkinson’s Disease Support Group at its McAllen Outpatient Rehabilitation Center to help patients, families and caregivers manage the disorder.
