- ➤ Alamo Fire Chief RC Flores advised pool-goers today to supervise children, use approved flotation devices, and for weak swimmers to avoid the deep end—he also warned against drinking alcohol near water and swimming in drainage canals as many head to pools this Memorial Day weekend to beat the heat. - ➤ Elva M. Cerda, director of the McAllen Heritage Center, said at a recent event that the center will add a two-level annex with 4,000 square feet for more exhibit space. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Texas lawmakers passed House Bill 1586 on Sunday, allowing parents to print vaccine exemption forms from home (replacing the current mail order process) and the bill now awaits House approval before reaching Governor Abbott.
