- ➤ Hidalgo County commissioner emphasized the importance of organ donation during a registration drive and urged local residents to sign up—hoping more lives will be saved. KRGV
- ➤ At a Delta Area Summit held Tuesday, June 17 at Edcouch-Elsa ISD's technology building, leaders from Elsa, Edcouch, La Villa, and Monte Alto united to push for a local medical center. - ➤ The U.S. Department of Agriculture will open a sterile fly dispersal facility at Moore Air Base in Edinburg in six months to fight the New World screwworm that threatens Texas’ cattle industry. The agency is investing $8.5 million to produce sterile flies that will mate with wild ones to stop the pest’s spread into the U.S.—a measure aimed at protecting the state’s cattle sector.
