- ➤ Hammerhead flatworms are becoming more common in the area after heavy rains brought them from Cameron County to Mission—experts say these invasive worms hurt soil health by eating good earthworms and may cause skin rashes if touched. - ➤ City leaders dedicated the $1.5 million Northwest Blueline Regional Detention Facility on June 16 to improve stormwater drainage and reduce flooding in McAllen.
