Good morning, McAllen.

On Thursday afternoon, a 33-year-old man escaped police and climbed onto a rooftop in Edinburg last month, and he was arraigned on charges of criminal mischief and trespassing — bail was set at $7,500 for each charge — as officers reviewed his actions.

Edinburg Police Department is now approved to run its own police academy after TCOLE accredited the program in May.

The inaugural class will begin mid-July at the department's state-of-the-art training facility.
