ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A family of six lost their home in Alamo when a fire on Border Road around 11:30 a.m. Friday destroyed the house—resulting in one puppy fatality and injuries to two firefighters—while the American Red Cross helps the displaced family as investigators work to determine the cause. KRGV

- ➤ Juan Ramirez Cortez, a manager at Taco Ole in Mission, was arrested on July 10 for allegedly hiring over a dozen undocumented workers (he is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 15 and could face up to five years in federal prison if convicted). KRGV
- ➤ After a deadly shooting at the Border Patrol annex in McAllen, U.S. Border Patrol increased security at all Rio Grande facilities—Federal Protective Services evaluated building sites and reviewed access protocols to address safety deficiencies. KRGV

- ➤ New tariffs will take effect on Monday, July 14 — local experts warn that the new trade rules may raise store prices, reduce trade jobs, and push up medication costs.
