- ➤ The stabbing incident in Pharr last Friday left teen Anthony Sanchez in critical condition after he suffered seven stab wounds while his peer Fernando Gaetan, Jr. was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and later released on bond—families on both sides are now seeking justice as police investigate the case. - ➤ A federal judge dismissed a felony charge against Taco Olay’s manager Juan Ramirez Cortez in Mission after ruling the evidence was not enough for smuggling claims—he now faces two misdemeanor charges and will attend a hearing on Friday. Fox Rio Grande Valley
- ➤ Christopher Lee Soto was declared incompetent to stand trial in court on Wednesday for the murder charge linked to the October 2023 stabbing death of his female roommate in Alamo—he will be held for 120 days in a mental health facility as further tests continue. KRGV
- ➤ A McAllen resident, Narciso Dominguez III, was sentenced to 10 years in prison and five years of supervised release for mailing about 220 pounds of cocaine a day — authorities discovered 95 pounds in his vehicle and seized over 500 pounds during a traffic stop in May on his suspected drug trafficking operation.
