Texas Game Wardens advised boaters at Adolph Thomae Jr. County Park to use life jackets and check safety equipment ahead of Labor Day weekend — they also stress minimal alcohol use and remind families to share the water safely.
🎭 Culture
The Pharr Public Library is hosting a new exhibit, Pharr Packed with History, that explains how freezes changed the Rio Grande Valley citrus industry.
It is free and open to the public through Dec. 13.
🏛️ Government
Hidalgo County courts partnered with South Texas College to launch a program offering DWI offenders a path to earn a degree and clear their record; ten offenders are enrolled while ten more will join by month’s end (applicants must not have caused a death).
