- ➤ South Texas high school students can join Project Vortex—an initiative by the South Texas Astronomical Society—to build rockets and learn about aerospace careers. The free, 13-week program starts later this fall and will have students design an 11-foot rocket that is planned to reach 10,000 feet in June. The Texas Tribune
