Here's your local news at a glance for Friday, the 14th of November.
Good morning, McAllen.
🎓 Education
The Texas State Board of Education chose nine advisers for its social studies overhaul, a panel that critics say leans heavily right—only one adviser works in a public school and some have promoted debunked views on diversity and history.
Under the new framework, schools will focus more on Texas and U.S. history while reducing world history; final standards will be set by next summer with classroom changes starting in 2030.
