- ➤ Jon Dale, director at American Forests, is leading an effort to restore the Tamaulipan thornforest that once spread over 1 million acres in the Rio Grande Valley & is launching a community forest in the flood-prone San Carlos neighborhood to lessen storm damage and extreme heat.
