  • MCALLEN, Texas – Mario Reyna, the executive director of RioPlex, updated that the group is working to market the Rio Grande Valley and Northern Tamaulipas globally while reviewing membership levels and information requests.  Rio Grande Guardian

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • RGV Rail Advocacy held an info share event on Sept. 30 at Mission Events Conference Center to explain plans for a high-speed rail system with 14 stations between Brownsville and Roma. Leaders said the project could boost property values by 7 percent and create local jobs while they work on a real estate trust for 400 acres west of Mission—steps that show growing support for future developments.  Rio Grande Guardian

HEALTH NEWS

  • South Texas Health System will host the Think Pink campaign throughout October to educate the community on early breast cancer signs and offer discounted mammograms — its first event, the Think Pink Parade, is set for Oct 4 from 8 a.m. to noon at STHS McAllen.  KRGV
